Laboratory fume hood maintenance instructions

Since most of the experimental materials have a toxic relationship, there are possible safety concealments in various parts of the fume hood and related ventilation ducts.

Suffering, so before carrying out various inspections and maintenance, it must be confirmed that no risk factors exist, and any staff engaged in maintenance inspections

All must wear protective equipment (such as acid and alkali resistant gloves, eye protection, protective masks, masks, etc.). If any dangerous conditions are found during the process

, should be removed immediately before maintenance work.

To maintain operator safety and extend the life of the fume hood, the exhaust system should be maintained at all times.

The following points are recommended for maintenance every 3 months:

1 Use a neutral detergent to clean all parts of the cabinet, including the glass window, the inner liner and the inside and outside of the deflector;

2 Lubricate the rails, cables and balance pulleys of the adjustment door.

The following points are recommended for maintenance every 6 months:

1 Check the adjustment mechanism for corrosion or damage;

2 Check whether the fans, motors, shafts and bearings are working properly;

3 Test whether each remote control device (faucet, gas trap) can operate normally;

4 Check whether the exhaust outlet pipe, especially the connection between the exhaust hood and the pipeline, is leaking;

5 Check the inside of the hood, especially if there is magazine accumulation in the bent section.

Ventilation countertop maintenance:

1 Ventilation counter panel maintenance:

(a) Although the ventilated countertop can withstand high temperatures, it is not recommended to be in direct contact with open flames and high temperatures for a long time. When using an electric stove, add asbestos pad or

Triangular bracket insulation;

(b) Although the ventilated countertop has good corrosion resistance to various chemicals, it may have some effects when immersed for a long time.

It is recommended that if chemicals are dropped onto the countertop, they should be as clear as possible.
