Key points for laboratory decoration and renovation
1、 Laboratory decoration layout
The indoor environment of the laboratory should be arranged based on the convenience and rationality of its internal use before interface processing, decoration layout, and furniture setting, as the spatial structure division has been determined.
According to the usage functions of the laboratory, it can be roughly divided into:
Preparation room (or pre-treatment room), analysis room, instrument room, balance room, microbiological room (or clean room), storage room, etc.
When designing the layout, while meeting the needs of laboratories with different functions, it is important to consider following the experimental workflow to achieve a reasonable layout and reduce unnecessary staff walking back and forth, which is the principle of efficiency. In addition, when designing the layout of the instrument room, efforts should be made to avoid interference between different instruments.
2、 The overall design should be conceptualized comprehensively
It is very important to have a comprehensive plan before decoration. A messy and uncoordinated indoor environment is often related to a lack of overall planning before decoration. Conception and conception can be said to be the soul of interior design. The so-called overall concept refers to the overall consideration of the style and styling characteristics of the indoor environment design based on the laboratory’s functionality, practicality, funding budget, and other main contents, which is called "intention in writing". I have a general idea first, then I will proceed with the floor and walls, how to decorate them, and what style of laboratory furniture, lighting fixtures, and curtains to choose.
3、 Pay attention to the coordination and harmony of colors and materials
After having an overall concept of shape and artistic style, one can start from the overall concept and design and use the colors and materials of various interfaces such as indoor floors, walls, and top surfaces, to determine the colors and materials of furniture and indoor furnishings.
According to the overall conceptual requirements, determine the main color tone, consider the configuration and coordination of different colors, such as the level of brightness, the bias of warmth and cold, and the decoration of small parts with high color in local areas, in order to be orderly.
In the selection of materials for indoor interfaces and furniture furnishings, consideration should be given to the comfort of people’s close and long-term visual experience, and even to the characteristics of skin contact. It should comply with the principles of safety and environmental protection and ergonomics.
Colors and materials, as well as colors and lighting, are closely related and should be carefully considered when designing and selecting colors and materials.
4、 Laboratory interior decoration
1. The laboratory should adopt a frame structure to facilitate reasonable layout of the laboratory;
2. The fire resistance rating of the laboratory building should not be lower than Level 2, and the setting of fire protection facilities should comply with the relevant national regulations for building fire protection design
3. The seismic fortification category of laboratory design should not be lower than that of Class B buildings,
4. Meet the requirements of the laboratory environment, be beautiful and elegant, rich in modern technology, and demonstrate the industry characteristics, work philosophy, and unique style of the unit
5. Laboratory floor materials with special requirements such as cleanliness, pressure gradient, constant temperature and humidity should also meet the overall seamless requirement
6. Laboratories with buffer rooms (including clean laboratories, biosafety laboratories, and other complex laboratory rooms) should have concealed equipment doors for sharing experimental equipment, especially for the entry and exit of large equipment.
7. The walls of the laboratory should use building materials with low surface adsorption and easy cleaning.
8. Floor of the laboratory
